Bighorn Lookout location perfect for shooting

Me and my friend—both photographers—took an evening trip out to Bighorn Lookout just to check it out and see what the vibe was like. We’d heard a few things, seen a photo or two online, but honestly, we weren’t expecting this.

The trail was super short—barely a stroll from the parking lot—and then it just opened up. Rolling meadows, wildflowers, and this unreal cliffside view over the Sheep River canyon. Total Twilight vibes. The kind of soft, overcast light that makes skin tones glow and the landscape feel moody and cinematic.

It was quiet too. No crowds, no noise—just wind, trees, and that soft golden hour haze settling in. The whole place had this calm, slightly surreal energy, like it was made for slow moments and dreamy frames. We didn’t even need to direct much—every shot felt natural, like the place was doing half the work for us.

Definitely one of those locations that surprises you—easy to get to, but feels like a hidden cinematic set. We left already planning when to come back with clients.
